Vysotsky was cautioned, Sergeev was dismissed because of fire at naval aviation storage base

Russian president Dmitry Medvedev penalized a number of Navy's high-ranking officers because of fire occurred at naval aviation storage base in Kolomensky district, Moscow region.
Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky, Navy Commander-in-Chief and his deputy, Chief of Navy Main HQ Alexander Tatarinov received service incompetence notes; Sergei Sergeev, Deputy Chief of Navy Support Services was dismissed.
Other fired officers are Kuklev, commander of naval aviation; Col. Rasskazov, deputy commander of naval aviation; Manakov, acting deputy commander of naval aviation for logistics service; and some commanding officers of naval aviation central storage base where fire occurred: Col. Biront, base commander (dismissed by the president); Maj. Gidayatov, deputy base commander; Lt. Col. Marchenko, deputy chief engineer; Maj. Yermolov, service company commander; Karandak, head of logistic support department and V. Melsisidenkov, head of 7th storage department (dismissed by defense minister).
We recall that the fire which occurred in July 29-30 at naval aviation storage base near Kolomna, Moscow region destroyed headquarters, payroll department, club, 2 automobile pits, 13 depots with various aircraft equipment, and 17 outdoor storage platforms with automobiles.
"If something similar happens in other sites and other branches, I will do the same without a shadow of regret", emphasized Dmitry Medvedev.
