China is about to conduct naval exercise in the Pacific Ocean late in Nov, said the Chinese defense ministry's press release published on Nov 24.
This is a scheduled exercise, it is not aimed against any country and goes with international practice and laws, reports
Interfax citing the communique.
Beijing announced its plans to hold the exercise only a week after Obama declared intentions to escalate the US presence in the Pacific region.
Obama said at APEC Summit on Hawaii that the US set itself as a Pacific state and was planning to keep this status.
