The United Nations Human Rights Council has denounced the Israeli interception of a Gaza-bound international aid flotilla in an incident on Monday morning. In a resolution on Wednesday, it urges Israel to return all activists on the convoy home and send all cargoes on it to Gaza.

It is also mounting an international probe into the interception incident. Israel meantime has started operations to deport the over 600 people from 40 countries who were seized from the savaged convoy. Its naval assault on the aid flotilla is believed to have claimed between 9 and 19 lives.
