Leningrad Naval Base Commander becomes second person in Strategic Command West 31.08.2010

Leningrad Naval Base Commander Alexander Fedotenkov leaves his office being appointed deputy commander of Strategic Command West. That was reported to the Central Navy Portal by unaccredited sources.

Capt 1 rank V.E. Privalov will temporarily exercise duties of Leningrad Naval Base Commander.

Strategic Command West starts functioning since Sept 1, 2010. It comprises troops of Moscow and Leningrad military districts, Baltic and Northern fleets. All major staff reductions and reforms including disbandment of fleets' and military districts' headquarters will be completed till Dec 1, 2010.

According to General of the Army Nikolai Makarov, Chief of the General Staff, the integrated command system and structure of the Russian Armed Forces will be completely created by Dec 1.
