Russian president Dmitry Medvedev made personnel replacements in the Navy, reports the Kremlin official website.

Capt 1 rank Ildar Akhmerov was appointed deputy commander of Primorskaya flotilla, Pacific Fleet.

Colonel Yury Popov obtained the post of 3rd aerospace defense brigade commander, Baltic Fleet.

Capt 1 rank Oleg Gurinov becomes the Head of Naval Dept, Southern Military District.

Rear Admiral Yury Berdnikov was appointed the Head of Naval Dept, Eastern Military District and relieved from the post of deputy commander of northeast military grouping.

Rear Admiral Vladimir Vdovenko took the office of deputy commander of northeast military grouping.

Capt 1 rank Valery Kostin was appointed the Head of Personnel Department, Eastern Military District and relieved from the post of the Head of Personnel Department, Pacific Fleet.

Dozens of staff replacements were also held in other branches of Russian Armed Forces.

Recall that in spring 2010 Ildar Akhmerov commanded the Pacific Fleet task force headed by large ASW ship Marshal Shaposhnikov and dispatched to the Gulf of Aden with anti-piracy mission. Under command of Akhmerov, Russian mariners released from pirates tanker Moscow University with 23 Russian crewmen onboard early May 2010.

Ildar Akhmerov was born on Aug 7, 1965 in Kazan. He graduated from Pacific Naval Academy in 1987. Akhmerov used to serve on frigate Storozhevoy, Kamchatka flotilla. Since 1994 he headed radio engineering department of large ASW ship Admiral Tributs, 44th brigade of ASW ships, Pacific Fleet; carried out functions of executive officer of large ASW ship Admiral Panteleyev. He graduated from Kuznetsov Naval Academy in 2003; commanded large ASW ship Admiral Vinogradov; headed the division headquarters; since 2008 he was commander of alerted ASW ship brigade, Primorskaya flotilla, Pacific Fleet. He was awarded with medals "For military merits" and "For naval merits".
