Procuracy of Tatarstan sent to Zelenodolsk city court a criminal case concerning Larisa Kashina, deputy director for strategic development and marketing of JSC Zelenodolsk Shipyard and citizen of Netherlands Andrei Kubachev, director General of Dutch company Swolmer International Trading B.V. and Canadian Swolmer Shipping S.A., reports Interfax.
They are charged with large scale fraud (part 4, clause 159, RF Criminal Code) and attempt on large scale fraud (part 3, clause 30 - part 4, clause 159, RF Criminal Code).
According to investigation, in Nov 2007 Mr. Kubachev conspired with Mrs. Kashina and obtained over 2,360,000 rub from Zelenodolsk shipyard under tanker freight contract. However, the shipping was not executed; Mrs. Kashina cared for supporting documents. In Apr 2008 the criminals signed memorandum of intent to purchase 59 vessels from the shipyard. Mr. Kubachev attempted to withdraw over 1,880 mln rub from the account providing fulfillment of obligations, but did not succeed. On June 5, 2009 Frontier Service officers apprehended Mr. Kubachev during customs check at
Sheremetyevo-2 airport. Both crime partners are put under arrest.

Zelenodolsk Shipyard was established in 1895. It is specialized in building of civil vessels and warships. The shipyard built lead ship of Project 11661 - flagship of Caspian Flotilla
Tatarstan – and Project 1239 air-cushion missile ships
Bora and
Samum. Second ship of Project 11661 is presently under construction.
