Fire at Pacific Fleet's clothing depots

Fire happened Friday night at Pacific Fleet's depots near Sirenevka, Primorski Krai, said Pacific Fleet Information Service.
The fire was brought under control by PF Fire Service and EMERCOM. Nobody suffered from the fire but materials stored at 100 square meters of clothing depots burnt off. Amount of damage is being determined.
According to preliminary version, the ignition cause was a problem with electric wiring. Military Procuracy started investigation of the accident.
Pacific Fleet (PF) is operational-strategic division of the Russian Navy. Its main objective is providing military security of the Russian Federation in Asian-Pacific Region, particularly: restraint of nuclear arms, protection of economic zone and production, enhancing security of navigation. Pacific Fleet was established on May 21, 1731, when Okhotsk naval port was found – the first Russia's regular naval segment at Far East. Far East Naval Forces obtained their present name – Pacific Fleet – in 1935. During the Great Patriotic War a part of PF was in action at Northern Fleet's responsibility area; during the war against Japan PF took part in liberation of North Korea along with the First Far Eastern Front, participated in Yuzhno Sakhalinsk and Kurils landing operations. Pacific Fleet Headquarters is located in Vladivostok. Several PF naval bases: Viliuchinsk, Vladivostok, Magadan, Nakhodka, Rybachiy, Fokino. Vice Admiral Konstantin Sidenko is PF Commander since Dec 6, 2007. As of Oct 2008, Pacific Fleet possesses five ballistic missile submarines, 18 attack submarines (including 10 nuclear-powered), 13 ocean- and sea-zone surface warships and 43 littoral zone ships.
