Israeli authorities are concerned of reports that Nigeria intercepted gunrunning from Iran; presumably, arms were meant for Palestinian grouping HAMAS, reported Thursday Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

Smuggled arms from Iran were intercepted in Nigerian port Lagos few days ago. According to Nigerian media, the vessel from Iran called at Lagos port for several hours, discharged 13 containers and sailed off after a while. The cargo was classified in accompanying documents as construction materials. Meanwhile, being informed of possible smuggling, Nigerian security officers opened the containers and found arms and explosives there.

They found rocket launchers, grenades, and explosives in the first container; arms were hidden under floor tiles, reported Interfax citing a Nigerian security officer.
