Philippines Navy, Coast Guard Search For Lost Vessel 08.11.2011

Philippines Navy and Coast Guard search for 20 crewmembers of a cargo ship possibly sunken westward Luzon Island, reports Associated Press.

According to Philippines Coast Guard spokesman Algier Ricafrente, Hong Kong maritime rescue coordination center received a distress signal from MV Oceanic Union in the night of Nov 5.

Warship, coast guard vessel, helicopter and airplane were dispatched for search operation held somewhat 160 km off Burgos, Philippines. All vessels passing through the search zone are informed about a ship in distress.

Panamanian-flagged cargo ship was heading from Shanghai to Manila.
