US Deploys Two Tomahawk-Equipped Destroyers to Libya

13.09.2012 Pentagon deployed two warships to Libya after recent attack upon American diplomatic mission in Benghazi. As a result, US Ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed as well as three other persons.

The diplomat arrived in Benghazi to open American cultural center. Killers dragged out dead Stevens from the burned car, took picture with him and dropped the body on the ground.

According to a Pentagon's spokesman, destroyer USS Laboon will arrive in Libya in the nearest time. Another ship, destroyer USS McFaul will come several days later. Both ships are equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles, reports ITAR-TASS.

The US has already dispatched a special-task marine unit to Libya in order to reinforce security of American diplomatic mission in Benghazi. Enraged crowd of Libyans attacked the diplomatic mission because of an American movie allegedly containing insults over Islamic prophet Mohamed. American embassy in Egypt was attacked as well.
