Russian Navy Ships to Call at Maizuru, Japan 27.08.2012

Pacific Fleet (PF) task unit consisting of destroyer Admiral Panteleyev, seagoing tug Fotiy Krylov, and replenishment oiler Pechenga being deployed in the Pacific Ocean will call at Japanese naval base Maizuru on Aug 28.

After mooring, Russian Navy's official delegation will meet with the Maizuru base commander, city mayor, and a number of local officials. Besides, mariners will have a chance to take a rest and replenish supplies.

On Sept 1, the Russian ships will head for the home land.

Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces will pay a reciprocal visit to Vladivostok on Sept 23, 2012. A task unit will call at Vladivostok in order to attend a joint naval exercise.

Recall that the PF ships are on their homeward way from international large-scale exercise RIMPAC-2012 held nearby Hawaii, USA.
