Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief ADM Viktor Chirkov arrived in the UK paying a 4-day working visit. During his visit, Chirkov plans to discuss issues of bilateral naval cooperation, a Russian Navy spokesman told reporters on Monday. That information was provided by the Military Parity magazine referring to RIA Novosti.

The visit of Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief to the Great Britain started on Monday and will last to Dec 14. Admiral Chirkov will meet with First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope.

"The visit program was approved by Russian defense minister and implies discussion of Russian-British naval cooperation issues, as well as familiarization with structure and strength of the Royal Navy", said the spokesman.

As for him, in accordance with the visit program, Russian Navy Commander will visit HM Naval Base (Faslane), Royal Navy's Maritime Warfare School (HMS Collingwood), Type 45 destroyer HMS Dauntless, Phoenix Damage Repair Instructional Unit, Rosyth Dockyard, Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, and HM Naval Base Portsmouth.
