Russian Warships to Pay 30 Visits in Foreign Ports Coming Fall 29.08.2012

Since Sept through Nov 2012, Russian Navy's ships will pay about 30 calls and visits to foreign ports performing traditional military-diplomatic functions. The objective is strengthening of mutual understanding amid navies in interests of maritime security and expanding of military cooperation with navies of Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Asia-Pacific regions.

In total, since Jan through Aug 2012, Russian warships have carried out over 20 visits and formal calls at the ports of 19 foreign countries.

Russian naval ships participated in 6 joint exercises this year: Pomor-2012 with Norway, Maritime Cooperation 2012 with China, Baltic SAREX with Denmark, 14-th BLACKSEAFOR activation, RIMPAC-2012, and Northern Eagle 2012 exercises.
