BF large landing ship Kaliningrad arrived to Copenhagen 12.08.2010

Baltic Fleet (BF) large landing ship Kaliningrad headed by Capt 2 rank Mikhail Kushnerev continues long-range cruise. On Aug 11 Kaliningrad arrived to Danish capital city of Copenhagen to participate in festive events associated with 500th anniversary of Royal Danish Navy.

In accordance with the visit program, commanding officer of Kaliningrad gave a banquet on board the ship upon arrival to Copenhagen. Among invitees were representatives of Danish Navy and local authorities.

In the period of Aug 12-15 Russian mariners will take part in cultural activities arranged by the Dane. On Aug 12 a party will be held on board Kaliningrad; it is planned to invite naval servicemen of European countries who also arrived to Copenhagen to participate in festivities. Musicians of the Baltic Fleet Orchestra and their foreign colleagues will give gala concert to locals and guests of the Danish capital city.

On Aug 13 Russian servicemen will be hosted by representative of Copenhagen city authorities in the city hall. In addition, Baltic mariners will go sightseeing along Holmen's Canal, see local places of interest, and take part in sport events like rowing, tug-of-war, futsal, orienteering, and relay races.
