Frontier Service to hold naval exercise off Vladivostok

Frontiersmen of Primorsky Krai will host an international exercise. The maneuvers will take place in the Peter the Great Bay in Aug 20-25, reported RIA PrimaMedia referring to press group of regional FSB Frontier Service dept.
North Pacific Frontier Services (Coast Guards) Forum will be held in Aug 23-29 in Vladivostok. Official delegations and coast guard ships from Russia, Japan, S Korea, the US, and China will take part in events.
Russian delegation will be headed by Gen. Col. Viktor Trufanov, deputy director of Russian FSB Frontier Service and the head of Coast Guard Dept.
Multilateral joint maritime exercise Pacific Cooperation for Security will be conducted in Aug 20-25. Active phase of maneuvers is to be held in Aug 24-25 at the Peter the Great Bay and include interaction in search and detection of a vessel sent alarm signal, suppression of unlawful activity at sea, rescue of crew in a distressed ship. Russia, China, and S Korea will dispatch their Coast Guard ships and aviation for drills on Aug 24; Russia, Japan, and the U.S – on Aug 25.
The solemn meeting ceremony of the crews of Japanese, S Korean, American, and Chinese Coast Guard ships will be conducted on Aug 25 at 7.30 pm on 2nd pier of Vladivostok harbor station. When the ships are met, the heads of delegations will hold a brief press conference.
Sport events will start at 9.30 am on Aug 27 at local stadium. Teams from all crews will compete in tug-of-war, weightlifting, and futsal.
City sightseeing tours and visiting museums of Vladivostok are also planned.
On Aug 29 after farewell ceremony to be held at 11 am on 2nd pier of Vladivostok harbor station, the ships of participating countries will leave Vladivostok and head for home ports.
