BSF frigate Ladny headed for the Med Sea

BSF frigate Ladny headed for the Med Sea 16.08.2010

On Aug 16 Black Sea Fleet (BSF) frigate Ladny left Sevastopol for task accomplishment in the Mediterranean Sea, reports BSF Information Support Group.

Ladny and salvage tug Shakhter which had sailed off Sevastopol earlier will attend Russian-Italian naval exercise Ioniex-2010 in the Ionian Sea.

The objective of the exercise is practical cooperation between the two navies, improvement of interaction between Russian and Italian headquarters and ships.

Coordination of the drills activities will be held at a conference in Italian port Taranto.

During the cruise Ladny will pay official calls at ports of Greece, France, Libya, and Italy. The ship is under command of Capt 2 rank Alexander Shvarts.
