On Aug 17 Baltic Fleet (BF) large landing ship Kaliningrad led by Capt 2 rank Mikhail Kushnerev arrived to homebase Baltiysk, having completed official visit to Danish capital Copenhagen. Russian mariners attended festive events associated with 500th anniversary of Royal Danish Navy.

During the stay in Copenhagen, the Russian warship was visited by honorable guests like Danish defense minister Mrs. Gitte Lillelund Bech and Rear Admiral Nils Wang, Danish Navy Commander.

The visit of Russian warship to Denmark aroused great interest of locals and guests of Copenhagen who familiarized with service and life of Russian sailors during the onboard tours. The Dane noted the masterful mooring of Kaliningrad while arrival and constantly accentuated their respect to naval experience of Baltic mariners.

Musical collectives from different countries took part in the festivities. Among others, the most popular was the BF Orchestra. Their open-air concerts were warmly met by the audience.

Baltic Fleet continues combat training activities. Other ships will start a cruise in the nearest days to participate in international minesweeping exercise Open Spirit 2010.
