BSF starts exercise near Novorossiysk

Black Sea Fleet (BSF) started scheduled exercise of all-arms attack units, landing troops, air groups, coastal defense troops, and marine units, reports BSF Information Support Group.
"A scheduled exercise of all-arms attack units and landing troops in cooperation with air groups, coastal defense troops, and marine units has been started at Black Sea Fleet on Tuesday. Main objectives are improvement of headquarters' activities, and practicing interaction among task units while performing combat tasks. The exercise will last till Oct 2", said the press-release.
The participants will practice naval warfare against the group of "enemy" landing ships; missile firings of BSF ships and coastal missile battalions of Novorossiysk Naval Base; air defenses of landing ships with antiaircraft missile firings; landing and airborne operations on the "enemy" coast.
In particular, task units will conduct artillery firings against sea and aerial targets, practice air defense tasks with involvement of Su-24 aircrafts, reports the fleet's press-service.
Eighteen warships and boats, BSF aircrafts and helicopters, auxiliary vessels, over 200 marines and 40 vehicles will take part in the exercise.
