Ukraine is ready to provide an opportunity for Russian Black Sea Fleet (BSF) warships to conduct repairs and maintenance in Ukrainian naval bases, said president Yanukovich after meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev at 1st Russo-Ukrainian Forum in Gelendzhik, Russia.

According to Ukrainian president, BSF is in need of repairs and maintenance. This issue was raised during the top-level talks. Yanukovich underlined that Ukrainian base located within the BSF moorage area was capable to maintain both Ukrainian and Russian vessels. He also expressed wish to hear counteroffers from Russian partners.

Besides, the head of Ukrainian state offered to expand Russian-Ukrainian interregional co-operation. "In my opinion, we should expand the format of interaction between regions; it could be done by more active participation of not only border regions but other economically advanced districts", said Yanukovich. According to him, perspectives of interregional cooperation have been proved by European experience.
