Pacific Fleet sub launched ballistic missile from the Sea of Okhotsk 29.10.2010

Pacific Fleet (PF) strategic nuclear-powered submarine Svyatoi Georgy Pobedonosets launched ballistic missile against Chizha Range (White Sea) on Thursday from the Sea of Okhotsk, reported RIA Novosti referring to a source in Russian defense ministry.

"The launch was held from underwater position", said the source.

He pointed out that almost at the same time Northern Fleet (NF) nuclear submarine Bryansk successfully launched submarine-based ballistic missile (SLBM) Sineva from the Barents Sea against Kura Range, Kamchatka.

SSBN Bryansk also conducted an underwater launch. Both Northern and Pacific fleets accomplished their tasks and effectively hit dummy targets", concluded the source.
