Black Sea Fleet (BSF) large landing ship Yamal returned to Sevastopol on Nov 8 from the Mediterranean Sea; Yamal visited Greek ports of Corfu, Pilos, Spetses, Piraeus, and Montenegrin port Bar.

The visit to Corfu coincided with social forum "Russian Week at Corfu"; the crew took part in Admiral Ushakov's Memory Days.

Informal visit of the Russian ship to Pilos was associated with an anniversary of Navarino battle which was conducted on Oct 20, 1827. Joint squadron of Russia, England, and France defeated Ottoman fleet.

Staying in Piraeus, the crew of Yamal honored the memory of Russian sailors along with representatives of Russian embassy in Greece and local authorities.

Russian mariners visited museum battleship Georgios Averof and went sightseeing around Piraeus. BSF military band gave a concert at the city's central square for residents and guests.

During the call at the port of Bar, the Russian ship was visited by Montenegrin president Filip Vujanovi? and metropolite of the Russian Orthodox Church.

At Spetses Island Russian mariners had a chance to attend a museum of Greece's national hero named Laskarina Bouboulina; laid wreaths at the monument to Russian admiral Alexei Orlov and Unknown Soldier memorial. Afterwards, there was a friendly soccer game between Yamal's team and local soccer players.

The cruise lasted over one month.

The meeting ceremony was arranged in Sevastopol when the ship arrived.
