Almaz Shipyard gets ready for launching of subsequent export ship, said the shipyard's representative to the Central Navy Portal.

Launching ceremony of Project 10412 (serial No. 045) light patrol corvette built for Vietnamese Navy is expected to be held on Nov 12. According to the customer's requirement, it is going to be a closed-door launching ceremony.

Two Project 10412 ships were simultaneously laid down in summer 2009 at Almaz Shipyard under a contract tied with Vietnam; the first one is ready for launching.

There are two ships of this class already in service at Vietnamese Navy.

Thanks to perfect combination of combat and performance characteristics, Project 10412 ships had a good record, so Vietnamese Navy command decided to reinforce its fleet with other four corvettes of similar class; two of them are being presently built in St. Petersburg.
