Crewmembers of cruiser Varyag yesterday visited monument built in S Korea in 2004 in honor of 100th anniversary of heroism displayed by crews of the legendary Russian cruiser and gunboat Koreyets; having laid wreaths, Russian sailors honored memory of their predecessors.

Representatives of Incheon historical museum handed over flag of cruiser Varyag to Russian delegation on Nov 11 in Russian embassy; in 1904 cruiser Varyag entered a no-win battle against Japanese squadron near Inchon.
Afterwards, the historical relic was delivered on board Pacific Fleet (PF) flagship – Guard missile cruiser Varyag.
The visit of the PF warship to South Korea will last till Nov 13.
