Unique floating armor vests entered the inventory of coastal missile/artillery troops and marine units, Gen. Maj. Alexander Kolpachenko who heads those troops said in the interview to radio Ekho Moskvy.

Russian sailors got new "floating armor vests"

"We have recently adopted new floating armor vest. It is designed both for marines and for servicemen of surface ships", Kolpachenko said.
According to him, despite the vest's considerable weight, it perfectly floats. In addition, the innovative vest is fully armed with "weapons and ammo".
"We can say that a marine won't be drowned with this vest, although it is pretty heavy because of armor; that's a unique thing", pointed out Kolpachenko.
The general said that deliveries of the new armor vest would be started in the next year.
"It outclasses all parameters of army vests", considers Kolpachenko.
