State board analyzing trials of new submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) Bulava has completed appraisal of two latest successful test launches, reported RIA Novosti citing an informed source.

The previous launch was carried out on Oct 29 by nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) Dmitry Donskoy from the White Sea. The missile's warheads hit training targets in assigned zone at Kura Range, Kamchatka. The launch was conducted from submerged position within the framework of state flight development tests. Thus, number of successful tests got equal with faulty ones (7:7). By the way, two last launches were performed from submerged position, while all previous underwater launches failed.

"The analysis of two recent test launches was completed on Saturday. It was decided that the third launch would be held in the second half of December. Exact date will depend on weather conditions in the White Sea, where the coming launch will be carried out", said the interviewee.

According to him, the submarine which will conduct the launch is being presently determined.

"Most likely, Bulava will be launched by Borei class SSBN Yury Dolgoruky which is being prepared for the missile trials. The definitive decision on carrier will be made in the first decade of December", said the source.

As for him, there is good reason to believe that the forthcoming phase of the missile tests will be successful.

"That was preceded by strict control over the missile manufacturers which has a positive impact on general process of the tests", added the source.
