Navy Commander: Avrora will preserve the status of a warship
23.12.2010
Speaker of St. Petersburg city parliament Vadim Tiulpanov read off the answer of Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky regarding the cruiser Avrora's issue.
"The crew of Avrora is not disbanded but reduced into the 3-man staff (commanding officer Capt 2 rank, two enlisted sailors) and 28 civil employees. Status, subordination, and maintenance procedure of the cruiser will remain the same", wrote the admiral in his letter to St. Petersburg city council.
