Veterans of Vladivostok applied to Russian president with request to bridle defense minister Anatoly Serdiukov who had put up for tender Pacific Fleet's aquatic sports center.

According to Yakov Kan, the chairman of Vladivostok Veterans' Council, they addressed a letter to the president Medvedev expressing protest against the defense minister's decision to offer for tender Pacific Fleet's aquatic sport center, reports PrimaMedia.

Kan emphasized that such kind of decision indicates disrespect to Pacific mariners, all generations of naval servicemen and people of Vladivostok, because they are deprived of their beloved place of resort and solemn activities including the Navy Day Parade.

"Hopefully, the president will bring the minister to his senses and push to revoke this ill-advised decision", said Yakov Kan.
