Russia is ready to conduct military exercises of any format with Ukraine, said Russian defense minister Anatoly Serdiukov at Sunday's press conference in Vladivostok.

"Russia is ready to hold exercises with Ukraine not only at sea but in the air and on land. Those could be either integrated, or joint, or bilateral, or multilateral maneuvers. We are open for any format", said the minister.

Attending the press conference Ukrainian defense minister Mikhail Yezhel said in his turn that well-planned naval exercise Fairway of Peace could be larger than any other Russian-Ukrainian exercises.

"Those can be joint search operations, drills on arms use, anti-access activities, antisubmarine and antiaircraft warfare", said Yezhel.

As for him, Fairway of Peace is a crown of combat training for mariners of both countries. Answering the question whether it is planned to conduct joint cruises of Black Sea Fleet's and Ukrainian warships, Serdiukov said that the issue had not been elaborated yet.
