Actions of NATO members participating in the military operation against regime of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi go beyond the scope of the UN Security Council's resolution, reports Interfax citing Dmitry Rogozin, Russia's ambassador to NATO.

Rogozin: NATO actions in Libya go beyond the UN Resolution

"I consider striking against objects unrelated to aviation, including air defense assets, airfields, and aerial targets goes beyond objectives assigned by the UN resolution", Rogozin said.
According to him, the Alliance has toughened confidentiality of information related to military operation in Libya. "I realize there's no unity amid the allies regarding how to execute the UN resolution", stated Russia's ambassador to NATO.
As was previously reported, British MI-6 threatened to eliminate Muammar Gaddafi if he would not resign by himself. Referring to own sources, The Daily Mail reports that the Libyan dictator had received a note from MI-6 forcing him to leave the office voluntarily; otherwise, the British intelligence agency would eliminate Colonel Gaddafi.
The coalition of British, American, French and other forces conducts the military operation in Libya. On March 19 the allies delivered air and missile strikes upon Libyan territory. US and British warships launched at least 110 Tomahawk cruise missiles against Libyan targets; French aircraft performed air strikes. Libyan cities Tripoli, Misrata, Zuvar, Sirt, and Benghazi suffered bombardments.
