Pacific Fleet warship prepares to escort another convoy
22.03.2011
Pacific Fleet (PF) task force consisting of large ASW ship Admiral Vinogradov, tanker Pechenga, and salvage tug SB-522 continues the anti-piracy mission in the Arabian Sea. The task force is going to escort eleventh international convoy through the Gulf of Aden protecting it from pirate attacks, reports PrimaMedia referring to Roman Martov, press secretary of PF Commander.
"The 11th international convoy will head for the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait via the safety corridor. During the inter-convoy period large ASW ship Admiral Vinogradov had completed maintenance at sea and visited Seychelles. That was the second visit of the Russian warship to this island state; it was carried out in the atmosphere of friendship and understanding", said Roman Martov.
