Russian defense ministry is interested in closer cooperation with Ukrainian counterparts, said Russian defense minister Anatoly Serdiukov opening the fourth session of Russian-Ukrainian security subcommittee.

"Recently, military authorities of our countries have made real steps towards each other. We are interested in closer cooperation with Ukrainian defense ministry", stated Serdiukov.
He expressed hope the subcommittee's session "would help to expand cooperation between military agencies of the two countries".
"We have achieved good progress since the subcommittee's reactivation", pointed out Serdiukov.
In his turn, Ukrainian defense minister Mikhail Yezhel also mentioned about "positive developments".
"Hopefully, the meeting will result in certain decisions", he added.
