Ukrainian political party "Our Ukraine" headed by ex-president Viktor Yushchenko considers Russia's Black Sea Fleet (BSF) stationed in Crimea harms economy of the peninsula, reports REGNUM referring to the party's press release circulated on March 28.

According to the party's secretary Valentin Nalivaichenko, current wage arrears at BSF assets in Sevastopol is about $800,000 which indicates that the fleet does not fulfill social commitments to Sevastopol residents and exists only at Ukrainian budget's cost. In addition, Yushchenko's party criticizes plans of the city administration to hand over 800 ha of lands leased by BSF to Russian companies for development. "A giant land bargain is being made behind backs of Sevastopol people. Local community will get miserable funds comparing to potential incomes from leasing those lands at real market price", underlined Nalivaichenko. The politician insisted those facts should be investigated by procuracy and added that "Our Ukraine" would address appropriate claim.

Besides, Nalivaichenko says Russia outrages interstate agreements by hindering inventory of lands leased by its fleet.
