Novorossiysk Naval Base hosts BLACKSEAFOR ships

The ships have already called at Turkish and Ukrainian ports during the current 17th activation. Novorossiysk is a call port of Russian party.
During the visit to be held until Apr 26, it is planned to conduct protocol meetings of BLACKSEAFOR command with Novorossiysk city administration and naval base leadership, summing-up meeting, and pre-cruise conference. Command of BLACKSEAFOR and Novorossiysk Naval Base gave a press conference on board Romanian frigate Marasesti in the day of arrival.
In accordance with the cultural activities plan, sport teams of BLACKSEAFOR ships will play soccer games and compete in tug-of-war; crews will have excursions to museum cruiser Mikhail Kutuzov and celebrate the Easter. The ships will be opened for public.
After the visit, the BLACKSEAFOR ships along with Novorossiysk Naval Base forces will practice counter-mine escorting, tactical maneuvering, and search-and-rescue of a distressed ship.
BLACKSEAFOR naval co-operation task group was established in 2001. Main objectives are conducting of joint search-and-rescue exercises; humanitarian, counter-mine, and ecological operations; good will visits.

After a sea exercise warships of BLACKSEAFOR naval cooperation task group called at Russian port Novorossiysk on Apr 22. The task group consists of Bulgarian, Romanian, Ukrainian, Turkish, and Russian warships.
