29.04.2011
Baltic Fleet (BF) Court Martial sentenced junior sergeant Nikolai Yesipov for 16 years of close confinement. He was found guilty of rape and murder of a minor girl, reports regional Klops.Ru.
It was found during the investigation that in the night of March 8, 2010 Yesipov was on leave and went to night club Aphrodite located in Chkalovsk town (Kaliningrad region) and misused alcohol. Then he met an acquainted girl and offered her to take a walk.
According to investigators, Yesipov took the girl to desolate place and offered her to have sexual relations with him. Being refused, the seaman raped the girl and then killed her to conceal the crime.
The crime was committed in non-obvious conditions so over 80 examinations had been held to prove Yesipov's guilty, said chief investigator of Baltic Fleet Investigative Committee Sergei Neilenko.
Apart from imprisonment, the court sentenced the ex-mariner to pay RUR 1 mln compensation to mother of the killed girl. Besides, he will have to reimburse RUR 111,000 for funeral expenses.
Yesipov was also relieved of his rank. When imprisonment term is over, he will be under additional restraint for other two years; he won't be allowed to go out in certain hours, visit mass activities, and leave the town.
