Baltic Fleet (BF) frigate Neustrashimy left for Copenhagen to pay a formal visit under the flag of BF Surface Squadron Deputy Commander Capt 1 rank Alexander Ivanovsky.

The BF ship's visit will be held within the framework of NATO-Russia Council seminar which is to take place in Danish capital city in June 21-23.

Anti-piracy will be the basic subject of the seminar.

Shipping security matters were also discussed at EU naval commanders' meeting held in Aug 2010 in Copenhagen.

Russian Navy was represented by BF Commander Vice Admiral Viktor Chirkov. He offered to cooperate in many areas including anti-piracy in the Gulf of Aden where Russian warships escort commercial convoys.

Besides, Viktor Chirkov and the head of the Royal Danish Navy Nils Wang agreed to establish working groups in 2011 in order to plan joint anti-piracy exercise.
