Western Military District (WMD) Information Support Group registered account on the popular online blog resource Western Livejournal.com.

The first truly "military blog" publishes posts about combat training and life activities of WMD units, implementation of social programs, and other publicly significant events with participation of WMD servicemen.

Announcements of informational events and accreditations will be also performed via the Internet.

The blog named pressa_zvo.livejournal.com is visited by those who are keen on military themes, course of the defense reform, and current state of Russian Armed Forces. WMD press service will arrange tours to military units and institutions for the most active bloggers.

Information posted on the blog is represented in easy-readable form. Authors try to minimize use of specific military terminology which makes the text hard for understanding. Almost each post is illustrated by multimedia.

Over 200 Internet users visit the WMD webpage every day.

The first "military blog" appeared because Western Military District strives for an open dialog with those who use limitless space of Internet as a major source of information.
