Dugon-class landing craft won't be shown at IMDS-2011 27.06.2011

Caspian Flotilla's Project 21820 Dugon air-cavern landing boat Ataman Platov which was planned to be shown at the 5th International Maritime Defense Show (IMDS-2011) will not be demonstrated in St. Petersburg. At the last moment Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky ordered to leave Ataman Platov in the Caspian Sea, told a source in defense ministry to Central Navy Portal.

Only Project 11770 Serna landing craft will represent air-cavern dynamically-supported ships at IMDS-2011; this boat is based in Caspian Flotilla as well.

At present, air-cavern landing boat D-56 is towed to St. Petersburg through inland watercourses.

According to various sources, Caspian Flotilla operates five Project 11770 Serna air-cavern landing boats.

Characteristics of Project 11770 Serna landing craft:

Full displacement: 99.7 tons
Dimensions: length – 25.6 meters, beam – 5.8 meters, draft – 1.52 meters
Full speed: 30 knots
Fuel range: 100 miles at full speed
Endurance: 1 day
Propulsion: 2 x 3300-shp diesels M-503A-3, 2 x 16-kW diesel generators
Radioelectronics: 1 Pal-type navigation radar
Capacity: 1 main battle tank or 2 armored personnel carriers or 50 tons of cargo or 92 marines
Crew: 4 men
