American sailors pay honors to Soviet soldiers 05.08.2011

American sailors from frigate USS Carr which is currently visiting Baltiysk and US naval attaché for the US Embassy in Moscow David Manero laid a wreath at communal grave of Soviet heroes fallen in Pillau assault operation. An inscription on the wreath's ribbon says "To fallen allies from US Navy".

The ceremony was also attended by officers of Baltiysk Naval Base command and crewmen of Baltic Fleet (BF) destroyer Bespokoiny which acts as a host ship during the visit of American frigate.

American mariners visited Baltic Fleet Battle Glory Museum; they watched unique showpieces related to past and present of the Russia's westernmost naval base. The guests showed great interest in history and traditions of Baltic Fleet.
