Pacific Fleet (PF) actively continues summer training period. August will be determinative month for PF Primorsk Flotilla.

At present, the crew of large ASW ship Marshal Shaposhnikov headed by Capt 1 rank Denis Antsiferov trains in the Peter the Great Bay.

According to PF Primorsk Flotilla Commander Capt 1 rank Viktor Sokolov, in the first day of the exercise the ship has excellently practiced gun firings at air target, destroyed a buoyancy mine, and carried out antisubmarine drills by missile/bomb launcher. Great emphasis is also put on anti-terror activities in a non-protected harbor.

As for higher command, the ship's crew is an integrated team which has performed several ocean patrols, including those in the Gulf of Aden.

Recall that in May 2010 professional actions of the ship's crew helped to release Russian sailors of tanker Moscow University from pirates' captivity.
