Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov boarded one of submarines when visiting Pacific Fleet (PF) main naval base Vladivostok. At the sub's staircases he was met by PF Chief of Staff Rear Admiral Sergei Avakiants.

Accompanied by the sub's commanding officer Capt 2 rank Igor Bykov, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov and Governor of Primorsky Krai Sergei Darkin viewed the submarine. The delegation visited conning room and then descended to compartments of Varshavyanka to watch the sub's structure and living conditions of submariners.

After the inspection, Shuvalov met with the crew of Varshavyanka. He asked crewmembers about service conditions; in particular, the talk was about provision of housing. Deputy Prime Minister tasked Sergei Darkin to control that naval servicemen are provided with apartments in new community area being built near Patrokl Bay.

In the end of his visit to Pacific submariners, Shuvalov presented them a TV set, and the crewmen in their turn handed him a gift in commemoration of the visit to the combat submarine.
