Pacific Fleet (PF) task unit headed by large ASW ship Admiral Panteleyev in the nearest days will leave Vladivostok and head for the Horn of Africa to secure commercial shipping in that region.

This is going to be the sixth PF task unit dispatched to fight piracy. Pacific mariners will shift Northern Fleet colleagues headed by large ASW ship Severomorsk.

The coming cruise will not be the first anti-piracy mission for Admiral Panteleyev. In spring 2009 she was the second PF warship performing anti-piracy tasks in those restless regions of the Indian Ocean. Besides, in May 2011 Admiral Panteleyev took part in anti-piracy exercise along with counterparts from Singapore and Indonesia.
