Delegation of Indian Navy headed by director of ship building and procurement department Vice Admiral N. N. Kumar arrived at Sevmash shipyard for inspection.

Today, Vice Admiral Kumar accompanied by president of JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Roman Trotsenko, Sevmash's Chief Engineer Alexei Alsufiev, Director General Assistants Mikhail Budnichenko, Sergei Novoselov, Andrei Monogarov, and the head of Indian Navy's observation group Mr. Svaminatan inspected the course of works on INS Vikramaditya.

Vice Admiral Kumar was satisfied with progress in the carrier's modernization. "This is result of effective work done by leadership of the shipyard and United Shipbuilding Corporation", said the admiral. "I'd like to thank Mr. Trotsenko for directing of the ship's construction process, Rosoboronexport, Nevskoye Design Bureau, and contractors of Sevmash", added VADM Kumar.

According to him, the carrier is 85% completed, and Sevmash's schedule implies the ship would be delivered in Dec 2012.

President of USC Roman Trotsenko thanked Indian Navy's delegates for confidence given to Sevmash and USC, and assured that the closing phase of modernization would be carried out with due thoroughness, adherence to technology, and care of quality which Sevmash shipyard is known for.

"As of today, works are on schedule, and all emerging technical problems are settled thanks to our partners from Rosoboronexport. I'm sure that the ship will be delivered in December 2012", Trotsenko said.
