American destroyer USS Fitzgerald arrives at Russia's Pacific Fleet main naval base Vladivostok on Saturday, Oct 1.

This will be the second call of US Navy ship to the capital city of Primorsky Krai in the current year. The crew of frigate USS Ford visited Vladivostok early in July 2011.

Main purpose of the coming visit is further strengthening of bilateral friendly relations between the two navies. During the 3-day call, American mariners plan to visit a number of showplaces and memorable sites of Vladivostok, chat with their Pacific Fleet counterparts and compete with them in sports.
