Storm Inflicted No Harm to Northern Fleet Ships 16.11.2011

Most of Northern Fleet (NF) ships met the coming storm in their basing sites. NF forces deployed in the Barents and the White seas were informed about bad weather in advance and returned to bases. Appropriate measures providing safe moorage were taken in all fleet's basing sites.

Some ships failed to reach homebases are spending the gale in special shelter zones.

A severe storm goes on in the Barents and the White seas; wind strength is 30-35 mps with gusts up to 40 mps, wave height is 6-7 meters. Hazardous conditions are complicated by low visibility, blizzards, and fast icing of ships. According to NF command's estimates, the fleet is prepared for such environmental "attacks".
