Baltic Fleet (BF) task unit joined Northern Fleet (NF) carrier strike group deployed off the Moray Firth northeast Great Britain. Along with NF mariners, crews of BF frigate Yaroslav Mudry and tanker Lena will perform tasks of the long-range cruise.

Interfleet actions is one of distinguishing goals of the carrier group's deployment. Plan of the long-range cruise provides accomplishment of joint tasks in assigned regions by the ships of Northern, Baltic, and Black Sea fleets.

Presently, warships and supply vessels of Russian Navy's carrier group are stationed in the Moray Firth. Due to bad weather conditions - rising of wind up to 20 mps this morning – aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, large ASW ship Admiral Chabanenko, frigate Yaroslav Mudry and supply vessels raised anchors to wait out the gale.
