Northern Fleet (NF) Marine Regiment's gun pointers of BTR-80 armored personnel carriers held firing drills. They practiced march fire at disappearing and moving targets in conditions of polar night and severe frosts. Prior to the exercise, servicemen had passed numerous qualification drills.

Gunmen of three APCs fired at targets imitating enemy's armored vehicles, firing ports and a group of infantry. The targets were placed at the distances of 400-1,200 meters.

"The program makes possible to train skilled personnel", said acting deputy commander of NF Marine Regiment Lt Col Radik Lasynov. "All servicemen have successfully passed the drill", he added.
