For the first time in recent 20 years, Northern Fleet (NF) radically renewed park of truck automobiles. About 400 new trucks came to the fleet in 2011, which is 3 times as many as in the past years.

Among new trucks are modifications of Ural and KAMAZ, including all-wheel drive tractors to be used in polar conditions. NF coastal troops and armament depots will receive new automobiles first.

According to the head of NF Automobile and Armor Service Col. Pavel Okatov, today all military units of Northern Fleet are fully equipped with needed cargo vehicles. New trucks replace the outworn ones in time.

Renewal of the fleet's automotive park will continue in 2012 with special-purpose and engineer vehicles. Along with that, it is planned to conduct regular modernization and capital repair of overaged automobiles.
