Russian Navy to Commission New Large Hydrographic Boat in 2012 27.01.2012

In 2012, Russian Navy Hydrographic Service will receive a new Project 19920 large-size hydrographic boat.

Two boats of that project are already in service at Caspian Flotilla and Pacific Fleet.

The third vessel is planned to join Northern Fleet.

Boat of that kind is designed for hydrographic and buoyage works in littoral areas; servicing, examination, recharging, and repair of coast-based and floating navigation aids; delivery of personnel, special equipment and cargoes to unfurnished coast.

The hydrographic boat will be equipped with up-to-date equipment like multi-beam echo sounder with data collection and processing system, survey fathometer, profile recorder, pitch-and-roll measuring system, waterborne sound speed meter, stand-alone recoverable hydrological probe, and automated tide gauge.
