Russian Mistrals Can Pass Service Maintenance in St. Petersburg
14.02.2012
Russian Mistral-class assault landing ships bought from France may pass service maintenance and technical checkup at Wartsila capacities based in St. Petersburg, said the company's vice president Vesa Martinen at the briefing in Helsinki on Feb 13.
As for him, Wartsila is well aware of that type of ships and had provided them with technical maintenance before. The company would be glad to maintain Russian ships too, said the Wartsila's vice president.
Vesa Martinen emphasized that Wartsila's representative office in Russia was closely following the negotiations on the Mistral sale. If Russia gives service maintenance for outsourcing, Wartsila would be able to accomplish that task, reports Interfax.
