Turkish Task Unit Pays Unofficial Visit to Novorossiysk 16.04.2012

Turkish Navy's task unit arrived at Novorossiysk port on Apr 13 with informal visit.

The unit consisted of guided missile frigates TCG Oruçreis, TCG Yildirim, and missile boat Mizrak.

Turkish guests, representatives of Novorossiysk Naval Base, Novorossiysk Interior Department, and seaport authorities held a meeting in the port and discussed security issues of the visit.

The guests paid courtesy calls to Novorossiysk Mayor and Novorossiysk Naval Base Commander.

Turkish naval mariners had eventful cultural program including rank past of brass band, tours to the Malaya Zemlya Memorial, State Maritime Academy, and Abrau Durso Winemaking Museum. Sport competitions between personnel of Novorossiysk Naval Base and Turkish crews were held as well.

The visit of Turkish warships to Novorossiysk finished on Apr 16.
